A Knockout Day for The Eye Place

During October The Eye Place took part as a silver sponsor at the Hunter Valley Mining Charity Rugby League Knockout Competition. Held on Saturday 13 October at Pirtek Park, Singleton we were thrilled to be able to partner with such a high-profile local event.

The day raised over $85,000, a record-breaking amount for the event.

While it was a fantastic opportunity for us to watch the Men’s title be taken out by the Bengalla Badgers, seeing the Women’s 2017 reigning champs the Hunter Hawkettes take out the 2018 win was spectacular.

Anna and I were fortunate enough to see many of the local community come out for the day and we even had the pleasure of giving away a brand-new pair of Maui Jim sunglasses to Sam Matthews, from another local business – Matthews Jewellers.

The knock-out competition was a major fundraising activity for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter which I am sure you will all agree is a fantastic cause to get behind. It was also a great way to celebrate spring and the ever-increasing need for suitable eyewear for the Australian climate.

We have an extensive range of sunglasses available to purchase in-store, so why not check them out today.
